“Through hand painting and mending second-hand clothing, I highlight the utility of clothing as an expression of identity and as wearable art. This promotes sustainability by limiting textile waste and rejecting the increasingly popular mindset that clothing is disposable. Instead, clothing that no longer serves us just needs a little makeover! While much of sustainable fashion embraces minimalism and timelessness, I embrace the whimsical, the tacky, the colorful, the over-the-top, the sparkly, and the girly.”
